A Jihad2 U.S. officials say Russian authorities secretly recorded a conversation in 2011 in which one of the Boston bombing suspects vaguely discussed jihad with his mother.

Officials say a second call was recorded between the suspects’ mother and a man under FBI investigation living in southern Russia.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly about the ongoing case.

They say the Russians shared this intelligence with the U.S. in the past few days.

The conversations are significant because, had they been revealed earlier, there might have been enough evidence for the FBI to initiate a more thorough investigation of the Boston bombing suspects’ family.

Probation Department Indictment Confirms That MA Has Institutionalized Corruption

A Boston Globe Spotlight Team analysis showed that at least 250 MA Probation Department employees have personal or political connections that not only facilitated their job appointments, but also their career advancements.

Among the prominent Democrat Legislative leaders that sought patronage jobs for their minions are Senate President Therese Murray and Speaker Robert DeLeo.

“Federal prosecutors investigating the scandal-plagued Probation Department are focusing on Democratic legislators who may have benefited from the agency’s allegedly rigged hiring system, including House Speaker Robert A. DeLeo, one of the most influential politicians in helping people get jobs under former commissioner John J. O’Brien.”

The Probation Department’s Patronage path and its agencies internal bribery had been an “Open Secret” for years. It’s much like the quid pro quo for judgeships in the Commonwealth. It is said that in order to receive a judicial appointment you have to “grease” the machine.

So there you have it. Rampant corruption at every level of our state government and only the Probation chief and 2-aides are indicted. All of our Senators and Legislators have been given a pass to continue the corruption in other departments. And then there is the case of our “Dear Leader2″, Deville Patrick, who appointed state Senator Marian Walsh to a $175,000 job which had gone unfilled for years. The appointment was foiled by Benson T. Caswell, executive director of the Massachusetts Health and Educational Finance Authority, which was merged in 2010 with MassDevelopment. Caswell was fired for daring to interfere with Deval Patrick’s patronage bonanza for Senator Walsh. Caswell appealed and he received a $835,000 Settlement plus $300,000 in legal fees.

That money could have been better spent on our crumbling highway system, which is due to an altogether different corruption and patronage scenario.

But we keep electing these crooked legislators who, to maintain their “base”, allow programs initially meant to aid working families in times of economic or medical hardship, to degenerate into EBT and Welfare Fraud of monumental proportions.

Illegal Aliens, including members of the infamous Tsarnev families were seen as additional “base” benefactors that stood to oil our MA Political Machine. So what, that they were not legal immigrants. So what that they plotted to do us harm. So what that they likely purchased the fireworks in NH to make the bombs with Welfare money. But you see,what’s important here is that

17 bribery counts for ex-head of probation O’Brien

A new federal indictment charges embattled former probation commissioner John J. O’Brien with 17 counts of bribing state legislators by giving jobs to their supporters, friends, and relatives, crimes that carry up to 10 years in prison for each count.

The indictment, handed up Wednesday, alleged that O’Brien bribed Senate President Therese Murray at least three times by giving jobs to people she recommended. O’Brien allegedly bribed House Speaker Robert A DeLeo at least 10 times, according to the indictment, in part to help him as he began his successful campaign to become House speaker in 2009.

But despite months of speculation that prosecutors would target politicians, the legislators themselves were not charged in the indictment.

O’Brien and two top deputies, the indictment said, did “conspire, confederate, and agree to give jobs and salaries” to candidates promoted by state legislators “in order to influence those members of the Legislature” to boost the Probation Department’s budget and achieve other political goals.

O’Brien, who resigned in 2010 amid a patronage scandal that engulfed the agency, already faces federal racketeering charges along with the two top deputies, Elizabeth V. Tavares and William H. Burke III, in allegedly running a phony hiring system that gave jobs to people with political connections. However, he was recently acquitted of state bribery charges.

Attorneys for O’Brien did not return a phone call seeking comment.

Senate President Murray, a Plymouth Democrat, declined to comment, but DeLeo issued a statement insisting that he has done nothing wrong.

“It is clear that I am not a party to the indictment, but I want to state emphatically: I only recommended job applicants who were qualified,” said DeLeo, a Winthrop Democrat. “I never gave or received any benefits from those recommendations, and I never traded jobs for votes.”

In addition to Murray and DeLeo, who are mentioned in the indictment only by title, there are at least 21 legislators who allegedly received bribes from O’Brien in the form of probation jobs, the indictment says. Lieutenant Governor Timothy P. Murray also sponsored a successful job applicant, the indictment says.

The 56-page indictment expands the racketeering charges originally brought against O’Brien, Tavares, and Burke in March of last year. The original charges accused the three of overseeing a hiring system that conducted thousands of sham job interviews to conceal the fact that the positions were reserved for friends, relatives, and supporters of politicians and court officials whether they were qualified or not.

The grand jury investigating the probation scandal has heard witnesses for more than two years after a Boston Globe Spotlight report on the rampant favoritism. It was unclear Wednesday whether the new charges are the final charges to be brought in the case.

The new indictment describes many additional instances of bribes in the form of jobs that O’Brien allegedly gave to candidates recommended by lawmakers, but the hirings took place so long ago they could not be charged separately.

Prosecutors detail how O’Brien gave state lawmakers the opportunity to place their supporters and friends in the Probation Department, especially jobs at the agency’s electronic monitoring center in Clinton, once part of the largest state program to track people with electronic ankle bracelets in the nation.

When the center was opened in 2007 to expand the state’s monitoring of sex offenders, O’Brien was allowed to hire temporary employees and circumvent requirements that the jobs be posted and made available to the public.

During 2007 and 2008, he hired 20 electronic monitoring workers by soliciting names of candidates from lawmakers, including DeLeo, who was then chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee.

DeLeo and his staff contacted approximately 10 members of the House, who provided names, the indictment said. These individuals were hired “without any vetting process and without any interview,” the indictment said.

O’Brien doled out the jobs, prosecutors allege, in part “to assist the chairman in an upcoming contest for the post of speaker of the House of Representatives.”

Lawyers for O’Brien’s codefendants downplayed the significance of the new accusations, saying prosecutors are repackaging the same charges.

“It’s patronage hiring, and they’re calling it a different name,” said John Amabile, Burke’s lawyer. “It doesn’t change the landscape, and it doesn’t change our position. My client, a 72-year old retired grandfather who worked as a probation officer for 37 years, categorically denies that he committed any criminal offense.”

Brad Bailey, Tavares’s lawyer, said the bribery charges, like the racketeering charges, are wholly inappropriate, noting that Tavares had a distinguished career. “My client proclaimed her innocence loudly when she was indicted last spring and will do so even louder when she is arraigned on these new charges,” he said.

The three defendants will face all of the charges in a single trial; no date has been set.

Again and again, the new indictment detailed how well-connected candidates used their connections and ended up being hired. In one instance, Murray’s office opened a case file for a candidate referred to as “PL,” a reference to a politically connected job candidate named Patrick Lawton.

About two weeks later, his father, Judge Mark Lawton, sent an e-mail to the Office of the Senate President stating, “I know that Jack O’Brien takes very seriously calls from your office where there is a strong interest on the part of the Senate president.”

After a call to probation from one of Murray’s aides, the indictment said, Lawton was hired as a probation officer in Plymouth County even though he was ranked ninth out of 10 candidates for the position.

The indictments also described how a state senator intervened with probation to get a job for his girlfriend as probation officer at the Bristol County Probate and Family Court.

The indictments also described how Speaker DeLeo’s godson, Brian Mirasolo, rose from the ranks of assistant court services coordinator in 2004 to acting chief probation officer in 2009, when he became the state’s youngest chief probation officer.

According to the indictment, DeLeo wrote at least one letter in support of Mirasolo as he rose through the ranks starting in 2004, a period in which DeLeo was the chief budget-writing official in the House. In 2007, the indictment said, O’Brien contacted Mirasolo and offered him the job of acting probation officer in charge in Suffolk County “without application or interview.”

In spring 2009, O’Brien promoted Mirasolo to acting chief probation officer, an $87,000-a-year job he continues to hold.

Federal prosecutors launched their investigation in November 2010 after release of a scathing report by independent counsel Paul F. Ware Jr., who had been appointed by the state Supreme Judicial Court in response to articles by the Globe Spotlight Team about patronage at the agency.

For the past week, Glenn Beck has been investigating a Saudi national once identified as a “person of interest” in the Boston Marathon bombing. The story has taken a number of alarming twists and turns, but on his radio program Wednesday, Beck released some of the most interesting information yet.

But first, here are a few background points on how the case developed:

A Saudi national originally identified as a “person of interest” in the Boston Marathon bombing was set to be deported under section 212, 3B — “Security and related grounds” — “Terrorist activities” after the bombing on April 15
TheBlaze received word that the government may not deport the Saudi national — identified as Abdul Rahman Ali Alharbi – as the story gained traction on April 18.
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano refused to answer questions on the subject by Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC) on Capitol Hill on April 18, saying the inquiry was “so full of misstatements and misapprehension that it’s just not worthy of an answer.”
An ICE official said April 18 that a different Saudi national is in custody, but that he is “in no way” connected to the bombings.

On his radio program, Beck began with an overview of how the case unfolded, noting that Alharbi has rapidly gone from “person of interest, to witness, to victim, to nobody.”

Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano even said yesterday that Alharbi was just “in the wrong place at the wrong time” and was “never a subject,” after ridiculing inquiries into the matter last week.

But Wednesday, Beck presented new information after a Blaze source directly read the original event file, and multiple government sources with knowledge of the case and files contributed their knowledge.

Napolitano could serve “jail time for perjury,” Beck declared, and she will be “the first to fall.”

Here are a couple of new points, as Beck related them:

Alleged Abdul Rahman Ali Alharbi

At the time the event file was created for Abdul Rahman Ali Alharbi, it indicated he was “armed and dangerous”
Alharbi was admitted into the country under a “special advisory option,” which is usually reserved for visiting politicians, VIPs, or journalists. The event file cover page indicates he was granted his status without full vetting.
One of the first excuses given by law enforcement when confronted about Alharbi’s pending deportation was an expired visa. But according to the event file, his visa is good until 11-NOV-2016.
The event file indicates he entered the U.S. on 08/28/12 in Boston, MA but says he is a student at the University of Findlay, in Findlay, Ohio. He has an apartment in Boston, and doesn’t seem to have been a full-time student in Ohio.
When a file is created in the system the author(s) are notified via email when it is accessed, and given the email address of the person accessing, so there is a record within the government data system of who deleted them. It was amended to remove the deportation reference, then someone later went in and tried to destroy both the original event file and an amended versions. Copies had already been made.
The original event file was reviewed and approved by two high level agents – Chief Watch Commander Maimbourg and Watch Commander Mayfield.

Beck explained: “Subject is an exact match to that no fly order. That means, we have been presented bad information…and it was reviewed, and found to be sufficient. Subject has One (1) prior event...When they opened this when he was at the hospital, they found he’s already in the system!”

Event File

“A 212, 3B is from the Patriot Act…It is the biggest warning we can put on anybody,” he explained for those unfamiliar with the term. “You do not put people’s name on there easily…this is a terrorist designation, and there is a panel of agencies that you have to go and make your case to. It’s not like you’re standing in the hospital room and they say: ‘Make him a 212,3B.’ And if they are, they’re abusing their power….It is so rare that somebody’s name is taken off outside of death, that none of ours sources can tell us that it’s ever happened. It is laughable what Janet Napolitano said yesterday.”

Certainly, a litany of questions remain.

Was Alharbi considered “armed and dangerous” before the Boston bombing, or at it? Was it related to something they found at his apartment? Was his prior “event” from the days prior, at the bombing, or was it from an earlier period in his life?

Moreover, how was he admitted into the country under a “special advisory option?” How many students receive that privilege, particularly without property security clearance?

In Beck’s estimation, the entire situation at the least amounts to an alarming lack of transparency, and at the worst, an abuse of power and cover-up.

“This is not about this one guy,” Beck noted, “but by the way — where is this extraordinarily dangerous man? Ask that question, you’re not going to like the answer.”

“That’s what TheBlaze is releasing today,” he continued. “Once they explain away all of this, if you want to continue to discredit me, you will discredit yourself but more importantly, you will put the citizens of this country at stake.”

Monday morning Glenn Beck laid out what he knows about the Saudi connection to the Boston marathon bombings. It is a story that the mainstream media has all but completely ignored, though Beck says TheBlaze’s Chief Content Officer Joel Cheatwood reached out to numerous other networks in an effort to get the story out. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano refused to acknowledge the story even existed when questioned by Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC) last Friday.

But now a number of congressional sources have confirmed that the story is as TheBlaze reported last week, and Beck is presenting more pieces of the big picture.

“This week has changed me,” he said at the top of his radio program on Monday. “The events in Boston changed me….The events in Washington around Boston changed me.”

We crossed an “extraordinarily disturbing threshold” last week, Beck said, but we know “exactly who we’re dealing with now.”

After a discussion of how Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who is currently under guard in the hospital, wasn’t read his Miranda rights, Beck proceeded to lay out a number of points on the case.

“While the media continues to look at what the causes were of these two guys, there are, at this hour, three people involved,” he said. “The first one is the one we are going to address.”

Beck proceeded to highlight the background of the Saudi national first identified as a “person of interest” in the Boston bombings, Abdul Rahman Ali Alharbi, noting that the the NTC issued an event file calling for his deportation using section 212, 3B which is proven terrorist activity.

“We are not sure who actually tagged him as a ’212 3B,’ but we know it is very difficult to charge someone with this — it has to be almost certain,” Beck explained. “It is the equivalent in civil society of charging someone with premeditated murder and seeking the death penalty — it is not thrown around lightly.”

Beck continued, noting that after Secretary of State John Kerry met with Saudi Foreign Minister Saud on Tuesday, the FBI began backtracking on the Saudi national from suspect, to person of interest, to witness, to victim, to nobody.

Then, on Wednesday, President Obama had a “chance” encounter with Saudi Foreign Minister Saud and Saudi Ambassador Adel al-Jubeir.

“Wednesday at 5:35 p.m. the file is altered,” Beck said. “This is unheard of, this is impossible in the timeline due to the severity of the charge….You don’t one day put a 212 3B charge against somebody with deportation, and then the next day take it off. It would require too much to do it.”

“There are only two people that could revoke the deportation order — the director of the NTC could do it after speaking with each department, the FBI, the ATC, etc. — which is impossible to do in such a short period of time, — or, somebody at the very highest levels of the State Department could do it. We don’t have any evidence to tell you which one did it,” Beck said.

Congressman Duncan is in possession of the original event file along with other members of the House Homeland Security Committee, and have sent a formal letter of request (which we have a copy of) to Napolitano for a classified briefing on the Saudi national and the deportation order.

Beck proceeded to highlight more key points: Blaze sources say the Saudi national was once flagged on a terror watch list and was granted a student visa without being properly vetted.

If, as an ICE official said last week, there is actually a second Saudi in custody, who is it? Beck asked. “Why were there were no names, no pictures presented? The fact is, an event was created for one Abdul Rahman Ali Al-Harbi indicating he was to be deported for terrorism activity related to the Boston bombing. If this file was created with another Abdul Rahman Ali Al-Harbi in mind, don’t you think we should know about it?”

Beck proceeded with more exclusive information:

The Saudi’s student visa specifically allows him to go to school in Findley, Ohio. He has been in this country six months. He has an apartment in Boston, Massachusetts.

If this is a case of mistaken identity, then who is the person named in the file, with the same name, with the 3B charge? And If DHS was working with the person as a source to out the bombers, then why was there a 3B Charge?

Exclusive: Why wasn’t the Congressional Committee on Homeland Security notified? Why are they being cut out of all information? This is protocol.

We are working on the family connections, and there is more to come.

Sources tell us this will most likely now be kicked from the DHS to the DOJ and labeled an ongoing investigation that can no longer be discussed. This will be the reason Napalitano won’t answer the Homeland Security Committee’s request for a briefing. Like Benghazi they have heavy into a disinformation campaign floating a variety of scenarios to confuse the media — but that apparently doesn’t take much — to prevent the story from being pursued… They are also working very hard to discredit those on the scent.

“I need you to call your congressmen right now. There are congressmen who are aware of this, have seen the documentation — they need your support, they need your help,” Beck continued. “If we do not stand up, he is on a plane tomorrow or he is already gone.”

“We demand answers from the Justice Department and this administration.”

(MyFoxBoston.com) – From sheer terror to moments of courage and bravery, the personal stories of those affected by the bombing at the Boston Marathon continue to emerge from the tragedy as everyone tries to take in what happened.

I was about a block away from the bombing and seeing people rushing from the scene and the panic on their faces is indescribable.

A lot of us didn’t know what was going on at first and our cell phones weren’t working. But unlike 9/11, everyone had access to social media and people were jumping on to Twitter and Facebook to see what was happening and connect with loved ones.

That’s still the case Tuesday. People are logging on and connecting with loved ones near and far as we all try to understand how and why this happened.

A Boston The deadly bombing at the Boston Marathon that killed at least two and injured more than 80 is believed to be an act of terrorism, senior White House officials told Fox News.

Two explosions tore through the finish line of the world-famous race just before 3 p.m., going off simultaneously as throngs of onlookers watched runners complete the 26.2-mile trek. The timing of the blasts immediately sparked suspicions of a deliberate act.

“When multiple devices go off, that’s an act of terrorism,” a senior administration official told Fox News, just moments after President Obama delivered a statement to the nation and did not use the word “terror.”

The official stressed that with details still coming in, it is unclear whether a foreign entity like Al Qaeda was behind it or whether it was home-grown terrorism. As a result, this official said the administration did not want the president to get out too far ahead and directly call it “terror.”

Condemned to death were Benghazi Ambassador Christopher Stevens, Sean Smith an Information Officer and Computer whiz and two former Seals Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty.

David Kirkpatrick of the New York Times, quite conveniently, reported that they the assault was launched in retaliation for the release of the anti-Islamic video, Innocence of Muslims.

The videos that according to a consultant on the project, were “Trailers” from a full-length film which was shown only once, to an audience of fewer than ten people, at a rented theater in Hollywood California.

On September 16 U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice appeared on five major interview shows to discuss the attacks.

“Based on the best information we have to date, what our assessment is as of the present is in fact what began spontaneously in Benghazi as a reaction to what had transpired some hours earlier in Cairo where, of course, as you know, there was a violent protest outside of our embassy—sparked by this hateful video. But soon after that spontaneous protest began outside of our consulate in Benghazi, we believe that it looks like extremist elements, individuals, joined in that– in that effort with heavy weapons of the sort that are, unfortunately, readily now available in Libya post-revolution. And that it spun from there into something much, much more violent.” “We do not– we do not have information at present that leads us to conclude that this was premeditated or preplanned.”"I think it’s clear that there were extremist elements that joined in and escalated the violence. Whether they were al Qaeda affiliates, whether they were Libyan-based extremists or al Qaeda itself I think is one of the things we’ll have to determine.”

On September 27, the FBI arrested Nakoula Basseley Nakoula a 55 year old Coptic Christian from Egypt living near Los Angeles , who wrote the script and produced the with parole violations related to the film.

On November 7, 2012, Nakoula plead guilty to four of the charges against him and was sentenced to one year in prison and four years of supervised release.

On June 10^th, an assassination attempt against the British Ambassador to Benghazi’s convoy was foiled when it was hit with RPG’s. The British Embassy was closed and all personnel withdrawn.
On September 8, Benghazi security officials met with US Embassy personnel and warned them of their growing concerns about their ability to maintain security
On September 11, Al Qaida leader Ayman al-Zawahiri declared that al Libi’s death still needed to be avenged.
On September 11, an American Drone was recording the attack in real time and feeding it back to the Pentagon 1/12 hours after it began. The terrorists were coordinated and had Rocket propelled Grenades or RPG’s. In a senate hearing, Senator
On September 14^th, CNN correspondent Arwa Damon found Ambassador Steven’s diary, wherein he expressed concern about the growing al-Qaeda presence in the area and his worry about being on an al-Qaeda hit list.

Day three of the Gaza crisis has Israel keeping its foot on the gas with more punishing air strikes against Palestinian militants while Hamas seems to have found its second wind after the disastrous loss of one its top commanders. Two rockets landed in open fields outside of Jerusalem today, the first time the city has ever been targeted by rockets fired by Gaza militants. A failed Egyptian diplomatic mission to Gaza today and harsh anti-Israeli rhetoric by Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi could worsen this conflict by emboldening Gaza militants to keep up their attacks.

Booms were heard following an air raid siren in Tel Aviv Thursday evening, just an hour after a rocket from the Gaza Strip exploded in an open field outside of Rishon Lezion. There were no reports of injuries in either strike.

The attacks mark the first time the center of the country was hit in the renewed violence from the Gaza Strip. The incident was also the first time that a real siren was sounded in Tel Aviv since the Gulf War in the early 1990s. Palestinian Islamic Jihad took responsibility for the rocket on Tel Aviv.

The rockets, among 277 fired from Gaza into the South since the IDFlaunched Operation Pillar of Defense Wednesday to root out the terror infrastructure in the coastal territory, landed less than 15 km south of Tel Aviv. The operation began with the Wednesday afternoon targeted killing of Ahmed Jabari, the chief of Hamas’s military wing.

The first rocket fired toward the Center hit in an open area near Rishon Lezion. The second rocket fired toward the greater Tel Aviv area “did not hit the ground,” the IDF Spokesman said.

Earlier Thursday, three people were killed and two others injured in a direct hit on a Kiryat Malachi apartment building. Hours later, a rocket fired into the Eshkol region injured three IDF soldiers, two moderately.

MDA paramedics treated five wounded people at the site of the Kiryat Malachi attack, in which a rocket hit a four-story building. Three people were pronounced dead on the scene and two others were suffering moderate injuries, including a baby.

A house in Ashdod and a school in Ofakim near Beersheba also sustained damage from rockets on Thursday morning. Rockets also landed in the Eshkol Regional Council area, Gan Yavne and Ashkelon.

The IDF Spokesman’s Office stated the Iron Dome rocket defense system has successfully intercepted more than 85 rockets since the operation began.

A separate IDF spokesman confirmed that all Palestinian terror factions took part in rocket fire overnight Wednesday, with Hamas trying to take the lead.

He added that the IDF “believes the rocket fire will intensify.” Tank fire also was directed at terror targets, he said.

Since beginning its operation, the IDF has struck nearly 250 Hamas and Islamic Jihad targets in Gaza, including several terrorist cells preparing to fire rockets at Israel and medium-range rocket launchers located across the Strip.

Palestinian sources said that 15 people were killed in Gaza as a result of the IAF strikes, with more than a hundred suffering injuries.

The spokesman concluded by describing the Hamas-ruled Strip as “a forward Iranian base,” and urged the populace to remain steadfast, as “home front resilience is vital for the continuing operation.”

Schools within 40 km. of the Gaza Strip were declared closed Thursday, and residents were urged to follow directives from the IDF Home Front Command. Magen David Adom paramedics treated 13 Israelis for injuries suffered overnight prior to the fatal strike in Kiryat Malachi, the organization said. Of the injured, four suffered light wounds while nine more suffered shock symptoms.

Gaza-border communities were in lockdown, with residents ordered to remain in their homes if they live within 7 km. of Gaza.

Explosions have been reported as far away as Dimona, some 75 km. from the Gaza Strip.

At an emergency meeting in Tel Aviv on Wednesday, the security cabinet authorized Defense Minister Ehud Barak to mobilize reservists if needed.

The cabinet also agreed that the IDF should continue to act against terrorist infrastructure and activity in Gaza. It instructed the Foreign Ministry to begin a diplomatic public relations campaign to explain that Israel was acting in self-defense against military targets, as the continued rocket barrage had become intolerable.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu spoke on the telephone on Wednesday night with US President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton. He was also scheduled to speak with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

The prime minister thanked Obama and Biden for taking the position that Israel had a right to defend itself.

The military operation immediately increased tensions with Egypt, which condemned Israel’s actions and recalled its ambassador.

Former CIA Director David Petraeus has agreed to testify about the Libya terror attack before the House and Senate intelligence committees, Fox News has learned. Petraeus had originally been scheduled to testify this Thursday on the burgeoning controversy over the deadly Sept. 11 attack. That appearance was scuttled, though, after the director abruptly resigned over an extramarital affair.

The resignation has since expanded into a sprawling scandal that now includes allegations that Gen. John Allen, the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan, exchanged “inappropriate” and sexually charged emails with Jill Kelley, a Florida socialite linked to the Petraeus case. The rapid developments in the case have all but obscured what until last week was an intense debate on Capitol Hill and beyond over the Benghazi terror attack. After Petraeus’ resignation, lawmakers complained that the scandal was no reason they shouldn’t hear from the man at the helm of the CIA when CIA operatives came under attack alongside State Department employees in Benghazi last month. The logistics of Petraeus’ appearance are still being worked out. But a source close to Petraeus said the former four-star general has contacted the CIA, as well as committees in both the House and Senate, to offer his testimony as the former CIA director. Fox News has learned he is expected to speak off-site to the Senate Intelligence Committee on Friday about his Libya report. The House side is still being worked out. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans were killed in the Sept. 11 attack, which the administration initially blamed on a “spontaneous” mob reacting to protests over an anti-Islam film. Officials later labeled the attack terrorism. While Petraeus prepares to give his side, lawmakers have begun to openly question when Petraeus first knew about the investigation that uncovered his affair — and whether it impacted his statements to Congress on Sept. 14 about the Libya terror attack. Petraeus briefed lawmakers that day that the attack was akin to a flash mob, and some top lawmakers noted to Fox News he seemed “wedded” to the administration’s narrative that it was a demonstration spun out of control. The briefing appeared to conflict with one from the FBI and National Counterterrorism Center a day earlier in which officials said the intelligence supported an Al Qaeda or Al Qaeda-affiliated attack. Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., told Fox News he now questions whether Petraeus’ statements — which were in conflict with both the FBI briefing and available raw intelligence — were in any way impacted by the knowledge the FBI was investigating his affair with Broadwell. WH: ‘We Decline to Comment’ on When Obama Learned of E-Mails, Met With NSC on Benghazi

(CNSNews.com) – The White House is declining to say when President Barack Obama first learned of three e-mails that the State Department sent to the White House on Sept. 11, 2012, directly notifying the Executive Office of the President that the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi was under attack, that U.S. Amb. Chris Stevens was at the Benghazi mission at the time of the attack, and that the group Ansar al-Sharia had taken credit for the attack.

The White House also declined to say when the president first met with the National Security Council after the Benghazi attack.

“I have been asked by one of our spokespeople to relay ‘that we decline to comment,’” said White House National Security Staff aide Debbie Bird in a written response to CNSNews.com.

CNSNews.com had asked Bird: 1) “When did the President first meet with the National Security Council after the Benghazi attack on 9/11/12?” 2) “When did White House staff first discuss the substance of the e-mails that went to the White House with the President or with the National Security Advisor?”

Carney also took a question about the e-mails today during a press gaggle held aboard Air Force One at 9:34 a.m. A reporter asked: “Jay, there are some emails that have emerged, which suggest that the White House and other areas of the government were told within hours of the Benghazi attack that an extremist group had claimed responsibility. How is that compatible with the idea that it was a spontaneous attack?”

Carney downplayed the significance of the State Department emails.

“There were emails about all sorts of information that was becoming available in the aftermath of the attack,” Carney said. “The email you’re referring to was an open-source, unclassified email referring to an assertion made on a social media site that everyone in this room had access to and knew about instantaneously. There was a variety of information coming in.

“The whole point of an intelligence community and what they do is to assess strands of information and make judgments about what happened and who was responsible,” said Carney, “and I would refer you to what we’ve already said about, and what the DNI [Director of National Intelligence] has already said about, the initial assessments of the intelligence community, and the fact that throughout this process, I and others made very clear that our preliminary assessments were preliminary, that an investigation was underway, and that as more facts became available, we would make the American people aware of them.

“Again,” said Carney, “this was an open-source, unclassified email about a posting on a Facebook site. I would also note I think that within a few hours, that organization itself claimed that it had not been responsible. Neither should be taken as fact. That’s why there’s an investigation underway.”

The NSC is chaired by the president, and includes Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, National Security Advisor Tom Donilon, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Martin Dempsey, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder. A NSC meeting would allow the leader of the intelligence community to communicate directly with the leader of the State Department in the presence of the president and for all of them to weigh any conflicting information.

The three emails in question, which were obtained by CBS News, were sent by the State Department to various government officials, including two officials in the Executive Office of the President, on Sept. 11, 2012, while the attack on the Benghazi was taking place and immediately after it had taken place.

Mitt Romney, fresh off what by most accounts was his victory Wednesday night in the first debate with President Obama, said in a Fox News interview that the deadly consulate attack in Libya was a “tragic failure” of security and that the Obama admiration’s explanations have been “misleading.”

The comments on Libya, made in an interview Thursday night with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, served to underscore Romney’s foreign policy attack on Obama, after a first debate that focused solely on domestic policy.

Obama claimed Thursday on the campaign trail that the Romney of the debate had tried to “dance around his positions” from the trail. Romney countered, “It’s the same message I’ve been saying across America.”

“Obviously the president wasn’t happy with the response to our debate last night,” he said.

As for Libya, Republicans have been vocal in questioning the Obama administration’s response to the attack last month that killed U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans. Sources have described the Sept. 11 attack as a coordinated assault by extremists that appear to have ties to Al Qaeda, but an investigation still is under way.

The Middle East events of the last two weeks have resulted in such gross negligence by this administration that in their confusion and rush to minimize their collateral damage they gave us a brief glimpse into their corrupt “Machine.” A “Propaganda Machine” that has permeated and been an integral part of Barack Hussein Obama’s regime since his Chicago beginnings. These past four years have seen the melding of a corrupt Political Machine with a corrupt News Media whose end result has been the largest disinformation campaign ever perpetrated against an American citizenry. The Obama Administration’s Libyan misinformation campaign has been so blatant that Mike Huckabee, a Protestant Minister, felt compelled to call out and at the same time warn the American people that “Your Government Lied to You”.

If we don’t Oust Obama in November, WWIII will erupt in the Middle East, we will be defenceless (Obama signed treaty that reduces our nuclear arsenal from 5000 to 1500 missiles and has asked the military to consider going down to 292) and after we plunge over the fiscal cliff, China will own our debt and our destiny!

Glenn Beck is one of our “Watchman on he Wall”. He warned us that The Obama Middle East Policy was leading to a Caliphate whose sole aim would be to march on Israel and to make Jerusalem their Capital. Last May, during a rally for Muslim Brotherhood presidential candidate Mohammad Mursi, Egyptian Cleric Safwat Higazi spoke before an adoring crowd of thousands, proclaiming, “We can see how the dream of the Islamic caliphate is being realized, God willing, by Dr. Mohamed Mursi.” Cleric Safwat Higazi further stated that, “The capital of the United States of the Arabs will be Jerusalem.”

It should now be clear to any neutral observer that the Obama Administration has via its “Arab Spring” and “American Weakness” foreign policy initiatives, have deliberately created a Muslim Caliphate.

On February 11th 2011, Glenn Beck talking about the Tunisian Revolution stated:

An apology that comes before the attacks on our Egyptian and Libyan Embassies. After mobs assemble outside our Libyan embassy, our Ambassador is taken to a safe house under the protection of Libya. Our good friends in the Libyan Government then aid the Muslim Brotherhood by providing the location of our Ambassador’s “Safe House”, thereby enabling his murder along with other embassy personnel l. Obama waits before announcing the deaths of our Embassy personnel even while it is making headlines in Europe. When he finally speaks, he soft peddles the entire atrocity and can’t wait to get on Air Force One, so he is not too late for his Fundraiser.

Obama Administration’s Has Been Cooking The Books On Illegal Alliens Deportation – “Record Deportation Numbers” Is A Sham

Internal documents obtained by the House Judiciary Committee show that the Obama administration has been “cooking the books” in order to reach their “record” number of deported illegal immigrants, chairman Rep. Lamar Smith said Friday.
Based on the internal U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) documents, the number of removals are actually down, the opposite of what the administration has been claiming.

According to the committee’s review, in 2011 officials at the Department of Homeland Security began including the number of individuals removed through the Alien Transfer Exit Program (ATEP) in its annual removal numbers. ATEP is a program which moves apprehended illegal immigrants to another point along the border.
The committee chair claims that counting those individuals as removals is misleading because there are no repercussions for illegal immigrants who are deported through the program, and they can simply try to re-enter.
“It is dishonest to count illegal immigrants apprehended by the Border Patrol along the border as ICE removals,” Smith explained in a statement. “And these ‘removals’ from the Border Patrol program do not subject the illegal immigrant to any penalties or bars for returning to the U.S. This means a single illegal immigrant can show up at the border and be removed numerous times in a single year — and counted each time as a removal.”
Given the new information, the committee’s Republican majority subtracted the ATEP removals from ICE’s deportation totals.

With the ATEP subtraction, in 2011 the estimated 397,000 deportations become approximately 360,000, and the 2012 removals to date drop from about 334,000 to an estimated 263,000, according to the committee estimates. Projections for number of people to be deported by end of the year drops from 400,000 to 315,000 removals.

As the possibility of a war with Iran looms in our future, Congressman Peter King’s Homeland Security Committee has quantified the Terrorist threat to the United States. For years border patrol agents have been reporting the real possibility that terrorists mascara ding as Arab refugees have been crossing our southern border

At a Wednesday hearing, House Homeland Security Chairman Pete King (R.-N.Y.) said that “at a minimum” there are hundreds of “soldiers of Hezbollah” inside the United States.

“Now, how many Iranian and Hezbollah terrorists are here already?” said King. “The highly-disciplined soldiers of Hezbollah are trained to lie low for years, or for decades. Those who have gone up against this enemy for our government estimate the number to be at a minimum–at a minimum–in the hundreds.

What would you say if someone used a human tragedy for purely political purposes and demonized millions of Americans? What would you say if that person was the Chairman of the Democratic National Committee? DNC Chairman Wasserman-Schultz did just that. Speaking at an event in New Hampshire this week, DNC Chairman Wasserman suggested the Tea Party was responsible for the shooting in Tucson last year involving Congresswoman Gabby Giffords. Perhaps Chairman Wasserman is a bit confused? Wasn’t it she who endorsed the Occupy Movement as “symbolic of the frustration of the middle class?” Yet, this movement has devolved to little more than unruly mobs set on violent clashes with the authorities.

Obama Signs Defense Bill Despite ‘Reservations’ – Our Freedom At Risk!

HONOLULU – President Barack Obama signed a wide-ranging defense bill into law Saturday despite having “serious reservations” about provisions that regulate the detention, interrogation and prosecution of suspected terrorists.
The bill also applies penalties against Iran’s central bank in an effort to hamper Tehran’s ability to fund its nuclear enrichment program. The Obama administration is looking to soften the impact of those penalties because of concerns that they could lead to a spike in global oil prices or cause economic hardship on U.S. allies that import petroleum from Iran.

In a statement accompanying his signature, the president chastised some lawmakers for what he contended was their attempts to use the bill to restrict the ability of counterterrorism officials to protect the country.
Administration officials said Obama was only signing the measure because Congress made minimally acceptable changes that no longer challenged the president’s terrorism-fighting ability.

“Moving forward, my administration will interpret and implement the provisions described below in a manner that best preserves the flexibility on which our safety depends and upholds the values on which this country was founded,” Obama said in the signing statement.

Signing statements allow presidents to raise constitutional objections to circumvent Congress’ intent. During his campaign for the White House, Obama criticized President George W. Bush’s use of signing statements and promised to make his application of the tool more transparent.

Obama’s signature caps months of wrangling over how to handle captured terrorist suspects without violating Americans’ constitutional rights. The White House initially threatened to veto the legislation but dropped the warning after Congress made last-minute changes.

Among the changes the administration secured was striking a provision that would have eliminated executive branch authority to use civilian courts for trying terrorism cases against foreign nationals.

The new law now requires military custody for any suspect who is a member of al-Qaida or “associated forces” and involved in planning or attempting to carry out an attack on the United States or its coalition partners. The president or a designated subordinate may waive the military custody requirement by certifying to Congress that such a move is in the interest of national security.

The administration also pushed Congress to change a provision that would have denied U.S. citizens suspected of terrorism the right to trial and could have subjected them to indefinite detention. Lawmakers eventually dropped the military custody requirement for U.S. citizens or lawful U.S. residents.

“My administration will not authorize the indefinite military detention without trial of American citizens,” Obama said in the signing statement. “Indeed, I believe that doing so would break with our most important traditions and values as a nation.”

Despite the changes, officials cited serious concerns that the law will complicate and could harm the investigation of terrorism cases.

For example, FBI Director Robert Mueller has said the measure would inhibit his bureau’s ability to persuade suspected terrorists to cooperate immediately and provide critical intelligence. He told Congress it wasn’t clear how agents should operate if they arrest someone covered by the military custody requirement but the nearest military facility is hundreds of miles away.

Other officials have said agents and prosecutors should not have to spend their time worrying about citizenship status and whether to get a waiver while trying to thwart a terror attack.

The administration also raised concerns about an amendment in the bill that goes after foreign financial institutions that do business with Iran’s central bank, barring them from opening or maintaining correspondent operations in the United States.

It would apply to foreign central banks only for transactions that involve the sale or purchase of petroleum or petroleum products.

Officials worry that the penalties could lead to higher oil prices, damaging the U.S. economic recovery and hurting allies in Europe and Asia that purchase petroleum from Iran.

The penalties do not go into effect for six months. The president can waive them for national security reasons or if the country with jurisdiction over the foreign financial institution has significantly reduced its purchases of Iranian oil.

The State Department has said the U.S. was looking at how to put them in place in a way that maximized the pressure on Iran, but meant minimal disruption to the U.S. and its allies.

This week, in response to the threatened penalties, Iran warned that it may disrupt traffic in the Strait of Hormuz — a vital Persian Gulf waterway. But on Saturday, Tehran seemed to back off that threat when a commander of its Revolutionary Guard, Gen. Masoud Jazayeri, said such discussion is a thing of the past and “belongs to five years ago.” He said Iran had other, unspecified strategies for reacting to any Western aggression.

Iran also said Saturday that it had proposed a new round of talks on its nuclear program with the U.S. and other world powers. The invitation would come after the U.N. has imposed four rounds of sanctions. Separately, the U.S. and the European Union have imposed their own tough economic and financial penalties.

The $662 billion bill authorizes money for military personnel, weapons systems, the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and national security programs in the Energy Department for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1.

The measure also freezes some $700 million in assistance until Pakistan comes up with a strategy to deal with improvised explosive devices.

Obama signed the bill in Hawaii, where he is vacationing with his family.
