Patriotic Face Painting and Balloons

 

Our “Patriot’s Day Rally” with its Theme of Patriot Courage is meant to be a family affair and we will be providing  free professional patriotic face painting for children, as well as balloons and prizes. Rich Howell will conduct a free tour of Lexington and Concord along the Battle Road and will provide a historic narrative. The bus will  depart from the Lexington Green (See Map on facebook) around 10:00 AM.  A tour  registration sign-up counter is available  on our Lexington Battle Green Tour  site. The site  will also keep you informed about updated speakers and events, so please visit it frequently.

Our Keynote Speaker Texas Republican Congressman and former District Judge Louie Gohmert and he will headline a series of  diverse guests who promise to electrify you  with patriotic discussions and messages on our theme of “Patriot Courage.”

Support Our Troops & Families Rally – Carver High School Teacher

Let’s show our support for a Carver High School
Teacher of 17 years, whose stepson was seriously injured in Afghanistan.
This teacher requested additional time off to visit her stepson in Maryland and
the Carver Superintendent and School Committee voted NO!  The School
Committee said they would discuss this issue again on January 9th 2012.
We must support our teachers, veterans, troops, and to all of those who protect our precious freedoms!

Teacher requests leave to care for son injured in Afghanistan: MyFoxBOSTON.com

A math teacher in Massachusetts is asking her school committee to overturn a decision regarding her days of leave so that she can be there for her son who was injured while serving overseas in Afghanistan, MyFoxBoston reports.

Sonya Lomax has already taken the nine paid days of leave allotted to her under her contract, but has requested an additional three days of leave citing, “extenuating circumstances.”

Liz Sorrell, the Superintendent of Carver High School claims her hands are tied and she has to honor the contract agreed upon by the school system and the teacher’s union, MyFoxBoston reports.

Lomax is now looking to Carver’s School Committee for help, sharing the story of her son’s traumatic accident before the School Committee on Monday night. Her son, Todd, was injured after being hit by shrapnel in a grenade explosion.

Todd is currently being treated at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Maryland for lacerations, fractures, and head trauma.

Superintendent Sorrell says she can recall giving additional days to a faculty member whose home burned down, but the School Committee has requested time to make a decision regarding Lomax’s circumstances.

The School Committee will make a decision on the matter by January as they take the time to review the teacher’s contract

After months of distancing himself from the tea party, suddenly Mitt Romney wants to be one of us.
That’s right, the big-spending former governor who signed Massachusetts’ very own version of ObamaCare is scheduled to take the stage this Sunday at a rally
in Concord, NH to lecture real conservatives about limited government and fiscal responsibility.
FreedomWorks and tea party groups from around the region will be there. But not to hear more platitudes from an establishment hack posing as an outsider.
We’ll be there to tell the real story about Mitt Romney, and to protest his record, which represents everything the tea party stands against.
After all, if we don’t hold candidates accountable for their actions while in office, who will? If we let ourselves be used as pawns to provide cover for the
establishment, then what is the point of having the tea party?
We’re standing on principle, not politics. Will you join us?
